India's four-wheeler EV market registered 32,867 new retail units in June 2026. Of these, the top 10 best-selling models alone accounted for roughly 25,666 units — nearly 78% of the entire month's retail volume concentrated in just ten cars.

The MG Windsor stayed India's best-selling individual EV model in June at 4,157 units, but its 9% MoM growth was the slowest of any model in the top 10 — meaning its lead over the chasing pack is narrowing. The Tata Punch EV 40 (3,925 units, up 14%) and the Mahindra XEV 9S (3,746 units, also up 14%) both grew faster, leaving just 411 units separating the top three.

The Tata Nexon EV held fourth with 3,564 units, up 15% month-on-month. The standout mover, however, was the Mahindra XEV 9e — up 30% to 2,390 units, the fastest growth of any model in the top 10. The Tata Harrier EV climbed 22% to 2,176 units, a strong showing for a premium electric SUV in a field otherwise dominated by more affordable models.

The Maruti eVitara grew 18% to 1,972 units — notable because it is currently Maruti's only electric model, meaning this number represents the brand's entire EV retail performance for the month.

Further down, the Mahindra BE6 grew 20% to 1,354 units and the Tata Curvv EV grew 28% to 1,264. The one exception to an otherwise uniformly growing top 10 was the Tata Tiago EV, which fell 9% to 1,118 units — the only model in the list to decline month-on-month.

Tata placed five models in the top 10 — the Punch EV 40, Nexon EV, Harrier EV, Curvv EV, and Tiago EV — the most of any brand, reflecting a wide spread across body styles and price points. Mahindra placed three (XEV 9S, XEV 9e, BE6), while MG and Maruti each had one model make the list.
