Ola Electric has launched the S1Z electric scooter in India, bringing its indigenously developed Bharat Cell LFP technology to a more accessible segment. The S1Z starts at an introductory price of ₹79,999, with two battery options offering claimed IDC ranges of up to 179 km and 301 km.

The new scooter is available with 3.1 kWh and 5.1 kWh battery options, while both versions use a 4 kW peak-power motor and run on Ola's MoveOS 5 software platform.

S1Z gets Ola's Bharat Cell LFP technology

The biggest technology highlight of the S1Z is its battery.

Ola Electric says the S1Z is its first product powered by its in-house developed 46-series LFP Bharat Cell technology. The cells are developed at Ola's Battery Innovation Centre in Bengaluru and manufactured at the company's Gigafactory in Tamil Nadu.

Both S1Z variants use the LFP cell technology.

4 kW motor and 70 km/h top speed

Both versions of the S1Z use a 4 kW peak-power motor and have a top speed of 70 km/h.

The 3.1 kWh version accelerates from 0 to 40 km/h in 4.6 seconds, while the 5.1 kWh version takes 4.9 seconds.
