In November 2025, I bought a Harrier EV with enthusiasm. When I drove the car it was just perfect. Better than Mahindra in my opinion because the suspension is much better, I can say this because my daily drive involves a rough road patch and I test drove both cars on that patch. But the whole experience has been dented by the poor quality of software in my car and the lack of knowledge of the service center to fix
Firstly, within a week I saw an airbag warning. After getting it fixed from the SC there was an HVAC issue. Apparently their technician had forgot to plug-in wire to a sensor (this is some shady and doubtful explanation on their part). When I got the car back there was a disturbing beep sound from the music system every time I connected through car-play. I again sent the car to them and asked them to do a complete PDI like checks before delivery. The car came back to me after 2 days, fine and without any hiccups.
After 2 months of flawless and routine drive, I now see a TPMS error now and then. The tires are at optimal pressure. I even visited the service center and they checked that tire psi is fine. The technician told me that these things happen in Tata cars irrespective of powertrains. I asked him very humbly, when do I ignore it and when do I consider it to be serious. He said, if the error lasts more than 30 seconds, I should get the tires checked.
This car is so good to drive but I do not know why Tata does not solve the small niggles in their software and train their personnel. A car should seamlessly fit into the buyer's routine that they should even forget they actually own one. It is just part and parcel of life. But these frequent visits hamper with my peace of mind.
