Ownership Experience

Absolutely Regretting My MG Windsor Pro Purchase – A Total Disaster

I am beyond furious with this car. I genuinely wish I had never bought the MG Windsor Pro. What an utter waste of money and trust.

The DC fast-charging is completely unreliable. Twice – TWICE – I’ve been stranded because the car simply refused to initiate charging. I wasted hours, took it to the service center, and they claimed it was “fixed.” Guess what? The exact same problem happened again shortly after. How is this acceptable in 2025? How can MG sell a so-called modern EV that can’t even perform the most basic function of accepting a fast charge?

The ADAS system is an absolute nightmare. Every single time I start the car, everything switches itself back on by default – lane-keep, adaptive cruise, the works. And the Automatic Emergency Braking is dangerously incompetent. It slams on the brakes for absolutely no reason – in the middle of an empty road, on perfectly straight highways, nowhere near any object or vehicle. I’ve had the car lurch to a halt multiple times with zero provocation. It’s not “cautious” – it’s broken, and it’s going to cause an accident one day.
The suspension is shockingly bad. Every speed breaker, every pothole feels like the car is falling apart. It crashes and bangs in a way I’ve never experienced in any other vehicle, let alone an EV that’s supposed to feel refined.

This is not my first electric car, so don’t dismiss this as “new EV owner anxiety.” I know what a properly engineered EV drives and behaves like. The Windsor Pro is simply a poorly executed, half-baked product that MG has rushed to market.

I am livid, embarrassed for having believed the hype, and stuck with a car that feels unsafe and unreliable on a daily basis. If you’re considering this car, save yourself the headache and look literally anywhere else. My experience has been nothing short of a nightmare.

1. DC charging was resolved as part of sofrware update. Please check with the service center once 2. For ADAS, you will have recieved and update. It now remember the setting and the way to switch it off 3. Suspension being bad is known and called out issue in every review

Sometimes it is an issue with chargers , they do not connect or shut connection after connecting in minutes , I recently faced this in a ChargeZone charger , saw it in arariq also , where as at the next charger I could charge perfectly. Though mine is not a MG or tata product . Automobile manufacturers and Charging operators need to resolve this and make it perfect Rgds

The dealer told me that they have updated the software but I faced the issue again. Took it back to them and after 5 days they gave me my car back. 2. I have not received any update as of yet for ADAS default settings 3. Youtubers never talked about suspension. Everyone talked about space, minimal cabin. It was a mistake on my part but I don't want others to commit the same mistake I did.

How did you find Windsor's Suspension with comparison to Nexon EV and Punch EV?

I have a Nexon Max. The suspension are way better in that. Windsor suspension are horrible. I have not driven punch ev.

Hi For DC charging issue, please follow this thread https://x.com/vsatyasrinivas/status/1965066700224974981?t=HIAaFQMkM3iipn_WA05PYA&s=19 Agree suspension is bad, but it's very good on highways. There's a video circulating in SM, alternative rear suspension is available for Windsor for around ₹21k. Have no clue how MG is going to resolve ADAS issue, recent update has a widget to turn off the collision breaking, which indicates they may not resolve the core issues, sadly.

I've been to the SC 2 times with this issue. They have told me the issue is fixed. I do not know what has been fixed but what is the surety it won't resurface again as they promised the issue was fixed when I visited them first. I will have to get suspension installed myself but SC said, it will have to ve done by them, else warranty may be void if any accident takes place while upgrading the setup. That is another fear tactic to extort more money. What guarantees their suspension setup will be better than what I get from outside. The widget works for that drive but it keeps the ADAS on when I start a new drive. I have to switch it off manually everytime and if I forget then that crap ADAS applies brakes erratically. Once a mishap was just averted when on an empty road AEB was applied for no reason.

Hi Ashok, try using kill switch before you plug in charger, had charger issue today and this worked for me. BTW, what suspension SC offered to install? Is it some other MG's vehicle's? ADAS is faulty in Windsor, may be we have to live with it. I don't think MG will have a solution. Adaptive cruise is also faulty in my vehicle. SC reset ADAS recently, hoping atleast cruise works, but didn't

I know the kill switch hack, but it shouldn't be like this. But what can we do now. Better to move on from it. The SC won't tell which suspension. They said they will install a softer suspension which is company approved. I don't believe them but their fear tactics of getting it installed from outside is unprofessional. For ADAS as well, nothing can be done. You rightly put it, we have to live with it. But all this has spoiled my ownership experience. I should have gone with curvv ev instead.
