Mahindra Hikes XEV 9S Prices By Up To Rs 70,000, Second Increase This Year

Featured image for Mahindra Hikes XEV 9S Prices By Up To Rs 70,000, Second Increase This Year

Mahindra has revised prices across its passenger vehicle lineup with effect from July 10, 2026, and for once, an electric model has taken the biggest hit rather than being the exception to it. The Mahindra XEV 9S records the steepest increase of any car in Mahindra's range this round, ICE or electric, with the company citing rising commodity costs as the driver.

It's the second time Mahindra has revised pricing in 2026, following a 2.5 percent increase in April. What's notable this time is that the XEV 9S stands alone: it is the only electric model in Mahindra's portfolio to be touched by the hike, with the XUV 3XO EV, BE 6 and XEV 9e all holding at their existing prices.

Variant-Wise Breakdown

Post-revision, the XEV 9S's ex-showroom price band moves to Rs 20.65 lakh–Rs 29.95 lakh, up from Rs 19.95 lakh–Rs 29.45 lakh.

VariantBattery Option(s)Price Increase
Pack One Above59kWh & 79kWhRs 70,000
Pack Two Above (70kWh)70kWhRs 60,000
Pack Two Above (79kWh)79kWhRs 50,000
Pack Three79kWhRs 50,000
Pack Three Above79kWhRs 50,000

The entry Pack One Above trim absorbs the sharpest correction, Rs 70,000, which also happens to be the single largest increase anywhere in Mahindra's lineup this cycle, ahead of even its combustion models.

The Product Behind the Price Tag

The XEV 9S is Mahindra's first mass-market three-row electric SUV, built on the INGLO platform it shares with the BE 6 and XEV 9e. Three battery configurations are on offer, 59kWh, 70kWh and 79kWh, returning ARAI-certified ranges of 521km, 600km and 679km respectively, across four trims: Pack One Above, Pack Two Above, Pack Three and Pack Three Above. Power outputs scale from 231hp to 286hp, all sent to the rear axle.

Reading This Against the Rest of the Market

Mahindra's move doesn't sit in isolation. 2026 has been a year of running price corrections across India's EV space, and the XEV 9S hike lands in the same window as revisions at MG Windsor EV, Hyundai Creta Electric, and BYD India.

Manufacturer & ModelLatest RevisionMaximum IncreaseRevised Price Range (ex-showroom)
Mahindra XEV 9SJuly 10, 2026Rs 70,000Rs 20.65 lakh – Rs 29.95 lakh
MG Windsor EVJuly 2026Rs 60,000Rs 14.70 lakh – Rs 19.00 lakh
BYD (Atto 3, Seal, Sealion 7 — select variants)July 1, 2026Rs 1,00,000Rs 24.99 lakh onward (Atto 3)
Hyundai Creta ElectricJune 1, 2026Rs 700Rs 18.03 lakh – Rs 24.70 lakh
Maximum ex-showroom price increase recorded in each manufacturer's most recent 2026 revision.

The scale of these revisions varies widely, from a token Rs 700 at Hyundai to a full lakh on select BYD models, underlining that "price hike" means very different things depending on where a manufacturer's cost pressures are actually coming from: local commodity costs for domestic players, versus import and forex exposure for a fully CBU brand like BYD.

What Else Sits at This Price

At its revised Rs 20.65 lakh-Rs 29.95 lakh band, the XEV 9S shares shelf space with a mix of body styles and powertrains, even where none of them match it feature-for-feature:
