Mahindra Revs Up India's EV Revolution with Ultra-Fast Charge_IN Network Launch

In a bold move to supercharge India's shift to electric vehicles, Mahindra has rolled out its Charge_IN ultra-fast charging network, kicking off with 180 kW stations that promise to make long-distance EV travel as seamless as filling up at a gas pump. With plans to install over 250 stations with more than 1,000 charging points by the end of 2027, this initiative isn't just about powering Mahindra's own lineup—it's open to all EV drivers, democratizing fast charging across the country.

Building the Backbone for Electric Mobility

Mahindra's Charge_IN network is all about speed and accessibility. Every charger in the lineup is a hefty 180 kW unit, designed to juice up electric vehicles in record time. For owners of Mahindra's sleek eSUVs like the Mahindra BE 6 and the Mahindra XEV 9e, that means going from 20% to 80% battery in just 20 minutes. And let's not forget the excitement around the soon-to-be-launched 7-seater Mahindra XEV 9S, which will also benefit from this rapid charging tech, making family road trips a breeze without the range anxiety.

The first two stations are already up and running: one in Hoskote along the bustling NH 75 Bengaluru-Chennai highway and another in Murthal on NH 44, just about 50 km from Delhi. Each site packs two ultra-fast chargers that can handle four EVs simultaneously, turning pit stops into quick, efficient breaks. Mahindra isn't stopping there—they're eyeing major highway corridors and high-traffic spots nationwide, co-locating these stations with cafes, restaurants and other amenities. Imagine grabbing a quick coffee while your car charges up and gets you back on the road in no time.

Open Access for All EV Enthusiasts

What sets Charge_IN apart is its inclusive approach. While Mahindra EV owners can tap into the network via the user-friendly Me4U app—where they can locate stations, start charging and pay seamlessly—the system is brand-agnostic. Drivers of any electric four-wheeler can use the "Charge_IN by Mahindra" app or popular aggregator platforms like Electreefi and Ionage to plug in. Currently, through the Me4U app, users already have access to around 34,000 public charging points from various operators, including Charge_IN itself.

This openness aligns perfectly with India's push for widespread EV adoption. As Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO of Mahindra's Automotive Division and Executive Director of Mahindra Electric Automobile Ltd., put it: “Electric mobility is about driving a larger shift towards cleaner, sustainable transportation. Our XEV 9e and BE 6, with their impressive 500 km real-world range, ensure drivers feel confident on long journeys. Meanwhile, with our ultrafast charging network by Charge_IN, we will be creating an open and accessible network for all EV users. Our aim is to make long-distance travel with an electric vehicle effortless and reliable like conventional driving, thereby building customer confidence and accelerating India's transition to electric mobility.”
